My plumbing nightmares continue! This weeks problem.....

The last two times I used my dishwasher I noticed it was leaking a little bit of water out the bottom. Its a Hotpoint Ultima SDW80 and has a flood/leak alarm, which wasn't activated. The wash carried on as normal, but there was some water on my kitchen floor afterwards. Now i think about it, its been making a funny noise mid cycle for a few weeks. To add insult to injury, when pulling the machine out to have a look, I have snapped off the waste pipe. I have no idea if it was already damaged. The water seemed to be coming out the bottom of the machine rather than the back, so I have a feeling the two things are unrelated.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it? Can I fix it myself? Would rather avoid paying hotpoint any more money. Am I better off just replacing the machine? HELP PLEASE!!

Thanks

water always goes to floor so you need to backtrack leak, water would only come out of back if under pressure as its on floor its, could be a easy fix split hose or damaged push fit adaptor, could be damaged o ring or seal or split waste pipe, well house waste pipe is a easy fix as it just push fit or is it waste pipe from yor machine?

I mean the waste pipe thats attached to the back of the machine (or was before I snapped it) The water literally seems to be coming out of the sides of the plate on the bottom of the machine, its all wet and has tide marks on it (presumably from when it happened the other day during the wash cycle). The machine has been disconnected for hours and there is still water slopping out every time I move it :-(
if you can remove broken fitting,i persume its a white threaded moulding?take it to a good washing mc spares shop, and replace, prity easy 2 do but make sure all yor conns are water tight,

Thanks Dave, have ordered a spare online. Still worried about what the initial problem was though.
well all u can do is tighten hoses as tight as poss,as long as ther not plastic!use new washers ,throw any old washers away, leave side panels off do a cycle, watch and c if any water is visible, dont push apliance in against wall, until its water tight and no visible water puddles,if water is coming out of water pump motor, switch off immediatley and prob best ring a expert! good luck
