Hello I'm about to move into a new flat but am getting a bit scared at how much everything will cost, it's a smallish two bedroom flat - anyone give me any ideas what to expect gas/electricity/water bill-wise? Any advice gratefully receieved and yes i know there's council tax, tv licence, maintenance etc on top of all that - and don't even start me on phone lines and food!

there are some great sites on line that compare prices, try those, and look around for a deal that'll suit you the best. the tax will depend on what area you move too and the tv license is best to pay quarterly by direct debit then that way, for any reason you move away or want to stop it you can give your notice and only pay a frction of the cost rather than paying the whole whack.  hope that helps.
Can't you ask the vendor for estimates of recent costs?  All these things will depend upon usage - the best person to ask would be the person who lived there.
