Plasterer is shortly to skim artex ceiling in 1958-built bungalow likely to contain asbestos. If some particles fall to floor as dust etc how dangerous is it to my 7-yr-old daughter's health? Thank you.

Asbestos causes more deaths than any other substance and is espaecially harmful to children.
Every home built before the 1980's will contain asbestos.
You should call your local council and ask them to send someone along to do a survey for you.
It would be very expensive to remove the ceilings of your home, so covering it in an Artex type plaster would seal it in.
Never saw, cut, drill or disturb the ceiling.

The amount of asbestos used in textured ceilings is small, but still should be treated with caution.   Plastering over is a good solution, as the asbestos is then left undisturbed and is therefore safe.   I am sure the plasterer will know his business, but there should be at least one coat of PVA solution painted over the surface before the plaster is applied.
