My hot tap in the bath is running really slowly even if I turn it on full, its trickling out. I took the top off it and tightened the screw on the top (not sure if I should have done this?) but its still the same and drips even if fully turned off. Whats wrong with it and how do I fix it?

TIA

The female plumbers are more than welcome but not sure if there's any on here lol! Hmm...we could make a new post to see.

Wayne, the bit the screw goes in is metal and has 2 black plastic bits around it. I've checked under all my taps - none of them have plastic rubber underneath the screw?
the rubber washers can sumtimes be inside the taps itself they get worn and restrict the water flow depending on how old your taps are etc

Ok, I might get a plumber (male or female depending on who answers when I phone them!) as I haven't a clue, we'll have water everywhere if I start taking apart a tap lol!

Thanks
There is a little thought....Somewhere along the pipe close to the tap could be a little screw in the pipe, that should be turned in line with the pipe ? easily spotted if there is one!
If you were anywhere near Southampton I would help...
