Anyone any advice on a new washing machine. Simple, no complicated programmes. The one I have I can't use a half load programme if I use a quick wash. A normal wash can take more than 2 hours, but it won't do a half load on a short wash, which is all I need. I just need to wash at 30, 40, 60 degrees, nothing fancy.

I'm on my 2nd Phillips top loader and wouldn't have anything else. I know a top loader is somewhat unusual but the drum is bigger than a front loader and they are very reliable. Much more reliable than a front loader. First one lasted 18 years of heavy use before it died.
I bought a Currys own brand one and use a quick wash at 30 degrees and its fine (bout 40 mins), Im on my own an never need to use half load, I always seem to have enough washing

Thank you both for your advice. A top loader isn't suitable for my kitchen though. I will check out both washers in my quest!!
I have a Miele which weighs your washing so that it uses the correct amount of water. It will even tell you how much powder to put in. So there is no need for a half load programme.
