where do posts have to be for garden gates? I live on an unadopted street, on my property's deeds it states that to the end of my boundary wall and to the wall opposite it is my responsibility. can I have small posts on the wall and side of my house or do I need planning permission

If they are within your boundaries then you are fine. You can have anything up to 2m in height, or 1m if it borders a public highway, without planning permission.
