Not sure if this is Homes or History

Is there a web site anywhere that shows typical house prices in the 1950's and 1960's

You could try registering with Our Property .co.uk they give some prices of past years
My parents bought a 3 bed semi in Bristol in 1960 . I know it cost 1,995 because I heard them talking about it and I wrote the price in some wet concrete and got told off!!
My husbands parents bought in West Midlands in 1956 and paid much the same.
Our house( Isle of Man) was sold for 2,400 in 1956 and 43,000 in 1980 . This prob isn't what you are looking for but it made me go and have a mooch thro' old house deeds.!!

Actually that exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to know the price of an average 3 bed semi was around 1957-60

Thanks

If it's any help to you, my father bought a 3 bed semi around 1950-54 in north London for 1250. It was sold two years ago for 499,950.

The value was slightly more but as the estate agent said if it goes over half a million it falls into a higher band of stamp duty.
my mum's house was bought mid-50's and cost 3k. it's probably worth about 320k now. it's in NW London.
I think this shows how the value of money has gone down.It will be like Zambia soon.
