Any ideas for cheap flooring(not carpeting)I've got a very large area to cover, approx 25sq mtrs- and very little money to spend! Ideally I'd like something quite dark in colour.

well if the floor is wood. sand it and paint or varnish it.
you can get some good deals with laminate flooring,b&q etc,if its a wooden floor then phantaxus is right.if its a concrete floor im not sure if that would look very good.but good luck anyway.
if you want something that doesn;t cost alot how about a wood effect vinyl you can get them in different shades from dark to light easy to lay too.
I've seen the plywood subfloor sanded, stained dark and varnished and it looked nice. Newt

Thanks phantaxus, unfortunately my floor is concrete and I live in a flat and don't think my neighbours downstairs would appreciate the noisy surface.

Hi Mully,I have considered vinyl, but I'm not sure how good it would look over such a vast expanse-my living room alone is 4mtrs x 5mtrs.

I'm interested it that idea Newt,thanks-How would I secure the ply ? Would I need to use underlay as in laying laminate ?
