End of tenancy -Reasonable wear and tear to hob?

Hi, my (private) tenancy is about to end at my flat, and i'm doing a scout round to see what needs doing to make sure my deposit is returned.

Just wanted to get a few thoughts on if something would be considered reasonable wear and tear after a full 2 years.

Basically the hob is a traditional electric one with electric plates, and a white enamel top.

In the process of keeping it clean, there have appeared a few small scratches on the enamel around the hob plates.
I dont think it is avoidable with this kind of hob. Any opinion on if the agents are likely to consider it fair wear and tear?

If they really are only 'small' scratches then I (as a landlord) would probably ignore them - assuming there was no other damage.

This does depend on whether you have a detailed inventory. No inventory equals no claim by the landlord as they have no way of proving the damage.
Hi kira000, when my son left rented accomodation (private) I got him to take pictures of each room and things in them in case the agent said something was wrong, ie dirty carpets, kitchen dirty and the like. On all digital cameras the date can be put onto pictures so if you know the rooms are clean when you leave and you got the proof they can't try to keep your deposit. They were going to try to keep some of my sons deposit until we told the agent we had pictures of rooms taken on day he left. Then they just gave him back whole deposit. Don't forget when you have left the place you wont be able to get back in to prove him wrong, and if you did the chances are that the builders or decorators will be there and there will be a mess anyway.
