I want to apply a varnish over a painted wall, in a bathroom to make it waterproof. Does anyone know any good products?

Try a yacht varnish - this is designed for yachts (suprisingly) so is very waterproof - available at most DIY shops

I was going to suggest using a polyurethane varnish. Plus it's probably cheaper than yacht varnish.
