Hiya, Im having a DIY disaster this weekend lol

Cant get fixings into the fireplace wall at all, drilled in different places - still hitting thro only by about 6mm

Trying to hang a heavy mirror and failing miserably

Beejay said to fill the holes and drill into the filler which I tried but just cant get the holes deep enough for the rawls or screws

.................quick..........let me through..............I'm a builder.......................

are you using a hammer drill Jelly Tot..............
Question Author
well Ive read someplace that if its brick (which im guessing it is) you shouldnt use a hammer drill so Ive dug out the cordless one which is slower but not using a tungsten bit tho (cos I dont have one)

...........some brick can be soft, but obviously not these...........could be concrete blocks..................just as hard.
A clueless drill will hardly scratch the surface Ali.........unless it's a dirty great big one with a hammer action......................stop sniggering.....................

You need an ordinary mains power drill with a masonry bit.

You might have to ask a neighbour.. LOL

ahem
I have a big hammer drill thanks very much (tho it is scary when up a ladder wi all the sparks goin on lol)

Beejay sniggered at me too, now Im gonna chuck the dummy out and cry WAHHHHHHHH

The rubble it leaves doesnt look like concrete - I use my envelope trick and catch all the drill dust.
....you need a ladder Wee 'un...............how tall are you...........one foot twelve.....................LOL

Get yer big one out and give it some...................
