Hi - I am a novice gardener. Is it possible to take a cutting from a bramble bush (blackcurrant) and if so how?

Black currants root very easily.cut about a 12" length of semi-ripe wood, just below a leaf bud .rub off the leaves at the stem and insert in gritty compost for half its length.Put in a shady place and keep damp.Do not over water.
Blackberries usually root themselves when a stem rests on the ground. You can help this by pegging down.
