Can anyone tell me the correct name for the 'building line' around a village, etc, outside of which planning permission will not be given for development? I'm trying to find my local one on google, but it's hard to find when you don't know the name of what you're looking for!

Thanks, Buildersmate, I'll give it a go.
When we had an application turned down they referred to being "Outside the close confines"

The line your refer to is called a the Defined Development Boundary. To find out were this is you need to look at the Local Plan which is produced by the local council
