Oil versus mains gas heating

Taking the same house of say 3500square feet and insulated to a medain standard and assuming the same equivalent amount of heat energy required to heat it (say 15000 KWH per year) and boiler efficiency of 85%; can anyone give me a straightforward formulae in which to put the oil price (pence per litre) on the one hand and the gas price (per therm) on the other so that a valid comparison can be made. The opinionated stuff that it easy to find is not much use. In other words how can I make a valid comparison between the cost per KWH of the two fuels at various prices
