Flowering Shrub - What is it ?

I have a flowering shrub in my garden that I was told was a Abegelia.

I have searched Google using all the spellings I can think of - but no joy

Does anyone know what this could be.

It looks a little like a weigela when in flour

is it flowering now? what colour is it? is it scented?
Try missing out the letter A. Could it be a begonia?
Could it be Aquilegia?
Er, just what type of 'flour' are you putting your Weigela into? Plain or self-raising? ;-)

A Weigela is a member of the family Caprifoliaceae. So is an Abelia. That might be what you've got. However, there are many different types. Several of them are pictured here:
