You need to test and more than likley have to change the FFD. Not somthing you can DIY though you need a Gasman.
ffd on a grill gasman!!!!!!!!!!

faulty thermocouple i'd say, needs changing.
give me a shout if your near birmingham, can repair it for you
LOL... What do you think a Thermocouple is gucciman ? It is a Flame Failure Device "FFD" is it not... Do not get confused with " FSDs" mate. DID you get my E-mails guciman i have had no response from you ???
gasman what is the one you need if you live in a flat ? I'm waiting on my new cooker but because i live in a flat it has to be fitted with a special devise i thought that FSD & FFD were the same.
The cooker i've ordered is fitted with FSD is that ok to install into a flat ?
traditionally the safety device on an oven burner is called a ffd, the powers that be have now decreed that ffd's no longer exist and they are now fsd's.
gas on spares who we use for all our cooker spares still call them ffd's however.
the new regulatiuons that came into force in jan 2008 state that any cooker fitted into a flat as to have thermocouple protection fitted to EVERY burner i.e. the hotplate burners, the grill and the ovens. Unfortunately the cooker manufacturers have no such cooker available until march ( i have contacted cannon and stoves on this matter and they told me march)
you need to contact corgi to find out what happens with your cooker in your flat at the moment, they have a website you can use.

gasman, just checked with the old man, he says technically a thermocouple can be classed as PART of a ffd, the other part being the electromagnet in the gas valve. but the device that was on oven burners to only let an initial small flow of gas thru was always called a ffd but is now a fsd. in fact when i was at my training centre before xmas i'm sure the trainer said that theres no such thing as a ffd now, they want it all termed as fsd's.
i got your email gasman, many thanks, i want to catch up with you on msn messenger asap but haven't been on much lately as very busy, chat soon, need some career advice.
