Somebody please help someone whose brain isn't working this evening!
My lounge is 15'10" x 12'5". I want to buy a new carpet but they are all priced in sq.m. Please can someone tell me how much it would cost to by a carpet that is 6.99 per sq.m and also how you calculated it so I can do it with different priced carpets. Many thanks a dippy Daffi x

Well it doesn't help that you have measured your room in feet and inches and are looking at carpets sold by the metre! You need to convert to metres first:

15' 10" = 4.83m
12' 5" = 3.78m

to fint how many square metres, multiply the two.

4.83 x 3.78 = 18.26 sq m

Or just for a rough idea, its virtually 5m x 4m so you need 20 sq m.
The way I do it to get a rough guide is: convert the imperial measurements into metric, then multiply.
or if you say 1 metre is approx 3' 3"
divide 15'10" by 3'3" = 5 approx
divide 12'5" by 3'3" = 4 approx
then multiply 5x4 =20
so 20sq.m. @6.99 =139.80
This method as always worked for me,hope it helps.
Sorry, forgot to add that your carpet at 6.99 per sq m would cost about 140.
