Toilet seats !!!!!

Can anyone advise me of where i can find a source for a replacement toilet seat. The pitch of the bolts to go through the porcelain is 9 inches apart. All seats i have seen at my local DiY store have been between 6 & 7 ".

They couldn,t help me in the store only saying that maybe thats the size of old toilets and that they must be obselete ???

Surely i don,t have to buy a new loo just to accomodate a seat lol ???
