Is there any proof that hanging your washing in fresh air is healthier than putting it a tumble dryer/ Does fresh air kill bugs or germs

It saves money!!

I think if you hang it out, the fresh air gives it a nice smell, whereas if you use the tumble dryer, you need to add dryer sheets to get that fresh smell.
I don't see how fresh air kills bugs and germs. They are everywhere, regardless of fresh air.

Sunlight kills some germs. So drying clothes in the sunshine has advantages.
In frosty weather, drying whites on the line will kill off many germs, (and will also help whiten ).
Using the tumble dryer is not very eco-friendly! Plus they eat electricity and are the greatest causes of house fires apparently! Get the washing out on the line if you can!!x
yeah i agree with juliet, sunlight does help neutralise odours and stains don't know how it does it but I'm sure someone can tell us!!
