What sort of toilet seat lid should I buy? I'm fed up with those one that have huge screws that take an age to undo and tighten up. Invariably they rust up and have to be sawn to remove them.
I can never get the lid to stay firm- the screws inside the hinge always seem to work themselves loose.
Do more expensive toliet seats have more reliable fixings?

Go for one with brass or chrome fittings. You'll find you get what you pay for.
I worked at a house a couple of years ago & they paid 1,000 for 2 toilet seats, to sit on pans that cost approx 3,000 each! The plumber was bricking it!!

Hello - how often do you replace loo seats?????????I've replace one in 30 years in the same house (and that was only because the original seat cracked when I stood on it!)
