marble cleaning

I have a marble-topped table. it has stains from glasses/cups etc how can i remove these?
i have tried baking powder and borax.

I used to specialise in Antique Marble Restoration and If these stains have got into the marble, you will not get them out!!!

A professional may get them out with Oxalic acid and then re-polish maybe, its difficult to say for sure not being able to see the stains.
