energy saving bulbs

when turned off the bulb flashes every 2 secs i have now removed the bulb is this normal

Never seen or heard of that before.

One thing you can't do with these things, is use a dimmer switch with them, you may not have one, but thats what happened when I had one, and like you, had to change the bulb back to an ordinary one..

I had the same experience as Lonnie, but with an electronic timer switch and low energy bulbs
