Apart from tumble driers and rotary lines, what are the best ways of drying laundry at home?

On the radiator or hang it out... having said that, if you live on your own, you'll only need to do the washing once or twice a week at most, you could still whack it in the tumble drier and not worry too much about the cost....
i just hang the washing on the clothes maiden and it's dry 24 hours later. if you have a little corner in your house or flat where you can put it out of the way (behind a door, in the bathroom, spare bedroom) so much the better. we have a tumble drier but i only use it maybe 3 or 4 times a year.
I hang clothes straight onto hangers and then hang them o the upstairs doorframes - looks like a chinese laundry but saves using the tumble drier.
Ensure your clothes are not made from heavy cotton but of a drip dry type. Then 1/2 hour on a hot radiator. I always buy clothes that need no ironing also.
Hung on a coathanger in the airing cupboard
If the weather outside is not suitable for drying, I drape my heavy laundry like towels etc over the towel rail/ radiator in the bathroom, and hang the rest on my excellent roll-away Tidy Dry two line washing line which extends out along the length of the bath and is fastened to the wall at either end. I don't know whether you can still get them, but they used to be available with two or four lines and they simply roll themselves back into the wall after use, rather like the cord on the vacuum cleaner sucks itself away in the body of the cleaner when you have finished with it. I do have a tumble dryer but rarely use it.
Get one off those extending shower curtain rails and fixit midway over the length off the bath, this will take your washing that can be hung on hangers or throw over bath & hand towels, heat from bathroom radiator should help.

Dear All - Please don't keep posting answers that involve me hanging washing on or near radiators. I've got mould and condensation from doing this already!
