Static Clothes

I recently bought a silk dress, but because of static it is too clingy. Does anyone have any tips? It's dry clean only so I can't use fabric conditioner which apparently helps.

I've heard that walking into a mist of hairspray once you have the dress on works, but don't take my word for it.

Is it too clingy to wear a slip underneath? This would stop it getting too static

John Lewis sell an anti-static spray - and I can vouch for it working ...

pps... I have washed lots of silk things that say "Dry Clean Only"
