my hair is a static hell since this bad weather began, I am not doing anything different, is there anything I can do to calm it down, even my clothes are all staticky (cotton)

why is this? Im sure I am not alone with this ..?

It because the air is much dryer during cold weather and dry air doesn't move the static away from you as easily as moist air. (i keep getting static shocks from touching things at the moment!)

No idea what you can do to help, other than fixing a grounding rod to your self over winter :)

thanks chuck, I had an idea it was dry air related, other than a number 1 all over my options are limited to using moisture products and water, the grounding rod sounds good though
Put some bowls of water around and allow water to evaporate to keep the humidity up and see if that works
Yes, low air moisture causes it and using conditioner can reduce it.

ahh thats interesting vascop, I will try that out.
thx ginge, I tend to use a 2 in one, I will try a separate conditioner tomorrow and see how that works.

if i didn't have a bullet cazzz, I wouldn't have cocked the rifle.
Fabric softener should kill the static in your clothes - we used to spray it on computer room carpets to do just that
heard of a brush or conditioner?
