Try nail polish remover.
Use household amonia, but be very careful not to get it on any plastic or painted surface.

Or use one of those plastic body scrubs we use in the shower. Try it wet with washing up liquid.

You may have to throw the body scrub (puff?) away afterwards, but they're cheap enough.
white vinegar is very good at getting rid of sticky stuff.
If you mean the type of residue left after removing a sticker or sign from a window, then try a light spritz of any hair spray. The alcohol in it works very well at removing it...
Lighter fuel is good for removing stick stuff from all sorts of surfaces
Another one to throw in the ring...

Hob cleaner scraper...

Best kitchen gadget, marvellous for all tasks apart from the obvious hob scraper, it will remove: paint, sticky labels, burnt on gunk from the oven, glue, grease etc from tiles and anything else that has set hard(!), on most (hard) surfaces like glass, mirrors, ovens, grills, HOBS, work surfaces - without scratching...

If you do buy one make sure it is a good metal one, not the inferior plastic ones that are on the market, (the blade is not a good razor).
Cellulose thinners will remove it - just dont get it near paint or PVC frames.
Furniture polish works well for this
