I have been told that there is a way to get all the water out the toilet bowl so it is easier to clean. Anyone tell me how as I have tried a number of ways and it doesnt seem to work.
I have seen this done using a plastic ladle, and a big sponge to get to the water left in the bottom of the U bend. Dont forget your rubber gloves and a bucket. Alternatively a wet/dry vacuum cleaner can be used. Remeber also, once the U bend is empty, the smell of the foul drain will quickly come out into the room.
I kind of meant without having to empty it by hand. My mate said to hold the ball thingy up and flush chain and this should suck all water out but it doesnt
What you are talking about empties the cistern, not the toilet bowl. The 2 are different receptacles for water, and I'm afraid you can't do what you are asking. The only way is emptying it by ladle etc.
whiffey you'd know all about smells :-) Its not messy at all. because you dont touch the water and its just alot easier to clean when there isnt water in there
Cannot imagine anyone going through this performance every time to clean a toilet bowl, just use the products that are meant to clean, and if necessary leave them in overnight and use a good toilet brush to scrub the bowl.
If you really want to empty it get a large cheap sponge in B&Q and push all the water down and the remainder can be squeezed out into a bucket and the sponge washed for next time ! Hard@it
