Should they be kept in the fridge or not? Some people do, shops don't. What is best? Thanks.

In normal circumstances I do not keep my eggs in the fridge.

Supermarkets don't, and delia smith says not to refrigerate.

If you do keep them in the fridge you should take them out at least 30 minutes before cooking to bring them up to room temperature.

You should store them in the carton they were sold in - the carton protects them and stops them absorbing smells.

If your kitchen is abnormally hot in this heatwave, then perhaps you should refrigerate them.
Good answer Ethel - Supermarkets don't refridgerate, and nor do the warehouses or the delivery trucks they come in.
well.... you live and learn??

but why, might i add, do they have egg shelves in fridges??

this isnt an argument by the way, just a curious question???
Everyone knows that the eggshelves in the fridge are for cream eggs, silly.
