Which makes of washing machine would you recommend or warn against?

I'm buying a new washing machine on a tight budget (200'ish) I know to check for energy ratings & for spin speed, but is there anything else that you would advice me to check for?

Thanks in advance

Hi

I've just bought a washing machine and its pretty good. Its an Indesit WIL123S and was slightly less than 210 from 365electrical.com. Its nice looking, AAB rated, 1200 spin and seems to have loads of different functions. It was also fairly quick delivery (in fact they delivered a day early as they were in the area!)
I looked at loads and this came out the cheapest anywhere
Hi Slooow Try looking at some of the items in the Comet Auction. They may have a slight dent or scratch but go alot cheaper than new, with a years guarantee.
To date I have bought a Fridge, a freezer and a tumble dryer, all about 60 to 80 pounds cheaper than new.
You will find the auctions by going onto Comet's home page. Rgds Al
