Why does my overflow overflow? Just noticed the highest overflow (attic) has a slow drip. Been in attic and can't see why this may be. Any ideas please?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Ballc*ck passing slightly? probably unnoticable if its got a plastic tube on it to muffle the sound. It can be adjusted to increase the pressure on the outlet orifice.
Normally rectified by grasping the big ball in the water tank and where it hinges at the other end, and bending the pipe slightly downwards so that the valve closes at a lower level of the ball

You say "highest", then presumably you have two tanks. If the tank you are refering to is the smaller of the two, it is the tank that feeds your central heating system. This means it is indeed possible/likely that the ballvalve is "passing",as gastwo suggests, but it could also be caused by a system problem i.e. pumping - over. If there is a separate control ( tap/valve ) to the tank in question, turn it off, and keep an eye on the water level in the tank. If the level continues to rise, it is not the ball valve, it's a system problem.

Hope this helps.
