How can I get black shoe polish out of clothes

I was brushing black polish onto my soes the other day.Unfortunately it spattered onto my white shirt when I was doing it.


Any ideas as to how to remove the polish from the shirt??

use turpentine(type of paint thinners) on the stain and rub with cloth, then place under cold water to rinse before placing in washing machine.
