The flowers on my Californian Lilac are white this year, the first time this has happened, the bush itself appears to be in perfect health. Anyone know why this should be?. Thanks,

I've never heared of this happening before, but I would guess its due to the lack of a certain mineral that may or may not be essential to the health of the shrub, which may have been all used up over the years. You can buy a product for turning pink hydrangias blue but it apparently dose not work with white hydrangias.

interestingly a white Ceanothus dose occur naturally in the Sierras at differant elevations. sorry I could'nt be of any more help.

Thanks Thunderbird+, our local garden centre hasn't a clue, but at least, you've given me something to go on.
