do most bulbs have to be lifted during winter to protect them. I know dalihas do, but what about Iris and Freesia

Don't know where you live but I'm in the South Midlands and I've never lost irises over winter. I think freesias are pretty hardy too.


Make sure they have plenty of drainage nothing much likes winter in soggy soil

There are loads of different types of Iris so it really depends on what you've got. Some grow at the waters edge so can cope with the wet, while others originate from hot countries so need to be protected.
