I get white deposits on facing bricks inside the porch.I clean it off but it comes back.I have had the walls damp proofed,but it makes no difference.

Give it a tosh with some diluted Unibond for starters - or is that what you meant by 'damp proofed'?

I think this is the salt coming through, very difficult to get rid off.
