I've bird feeders just outside the patio doors. A few times recently I saw mice on them.
They seem to have invaded the house. There are mouse droppings all over the stove and work surfaces.
I've baited traps with peanut butter but to no effect. I don't want to use poison or glue traps.
Any suggestions for another bait?

Rats are really easy to get rid of, mice can be more difficult! Again due to their feeding habits. rats will take the poison back to their nest and eat a lot of it, mice just have a bibble as they travel around, so if they find a bit of poison, they may have a nibble, but then move on, anything else they then eat will dilute the poison. I was a pest controller for many...

Here puss puss!
Chocolate usually works, they love it!!
Put the feeders on a post. Attach stuff, preferable long pointy stuff, at various points up the post to prevent ground animals climbing up.
As for inside the house, you need to discover where they are making entry and block it. Otherwise they will probably breed faster than you can trap.
Use a specific mouse bait, not a general rodenticide. Put the baits in lots of places, if you put just a few down, a mouse is unlikely to eat enough to kill it, due to their sporadic feeding habits. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE GLUE BOARDS!!!
Watch that they don't chew through a washing machine or dishwasher hose!!
The mice that occasionally live with me are very fond of a piece of Mars bar as their last supper.

I’ve got a humane mousetrap - usually put a bit of After8 in it - purely because its the handiest chocolate to hand.
You need a Jack Russell!
