Has anyone tried this out? I want to clean my stairs and a couple of bedrooms. Does it work well and does it take long for the carpet to dry again?

Yes we used it on a very large rug we bought from a second-hand shop. Hired it from Homebase.

The apparatus is heavy but it is very efficient and yes it dries very quickly!

Its as good as you are prepared to make it, follow the instructions and take your time!
Strangely enough I agree with both answers but I felt that it took fully 2 days to completely dry out. The amount of dirt that came out of the carpet made us feel quite ashamed!
I bought a bissell carpet cleaning machine - blooming marvellous it is too. Not like the 'old type' carpet cleaning machines. Four big rotating brushes and being an upright cleaner there's no hard work. The suction is brilliant & leaves the carpet really clean and almost dry. Its worth paying out for this machine. think it cost me about 150 but its there everytime I need it and with a little dog (need I say more!) I don't have the model no. handy but if you want it then post back and I will let you know the info.
