Electric Rat Killers - Anyone Used One, Do They Work?

Opened the garden shed after winter to find evidence of rat activity.
Need to get rid of the critters and looking at the options. Poison, not keen as probably won't be able to find bodies - if they are then eaten by other animals, this could harm those. Conventional snap trap, possibly messy and could get hedgehogs. I'm interested in battery-operated electric traps that supposedly kill instantly - I could put these off the floor, where the varmints have been climbing.
Anyone any experience of these (i.e. do they work)?

I have thanked the 2 people who have given me some thought and advice.
However, although I appreciate levity, it would appear that the serious answer to my question of personal experience is 'no'. These electronic traps are commercially available but expensive and I just wanted someone who had used them to share their findings.
Cats definitely catch rats. We have always had cats. Country rats are a continuous problem for us and two cats next door and three of our own catch loads. If you live in the country near a farm and with fields all round, you will have rats and Rat Killers will tell you its impossible to deal with. The council say the same. So cats and terriers are the best thing.
