Got a click and collect on Sunday. E-mail just received to say some items out of stock but will provide alternatives if I selected that option.

I can't remember. Do they automatically provide alternatives , or is there a box you have to untick, or whatever.

Don't want to amend order, frightened of messing things up.

I would have though they would automatically supply an alternative as they can sell more ?

There’s a box to tick, I always go for substitutes as they usually give you something better :)
It's done automatically Sparkly, if there's anything you don't want, just tell them on pick up, or do an online refund request.
Sorry, maybe you meant before conformation. When you do the order, each item has a tickbox as to whether you will accept replacements or not. Of course, unticking them means you'll get nothing if out of stock. The ticks are automatically placed on all (non medical) items but can be manually unticked. After the order is confirmed, it's as per my previous post.

Hope that helps.
Mozz, sherrard is correct, you have to tick a box if you want substitutes.
Sherrardk is also right, the replacements are generally upgrades, but you pay the lowest price of any replaced item.
Danny, the ticks are already there, so if you do nothing, you'll get the replacements.

Thanks all. I seem to recall a box with a red cross in it. I did not do anything with it. I shall wait and see what happens, no big deal but I shall know for next time.

There is always Spar down the road. I am basically trying click and collect as my wife has not been out for six weeks, she will stay in the car though.
or she could just stay at home?
You have to tick which items you will accept substitutes or they just adjust the bill
Sparkly, the red cross means the item won't be replaced. I get them when I order painkillers from Asda.

Let us know how you get on.

I dont think they substitute if they have told you something is out of stock, only substitute if its run out when they come to pick it for you.

I have been using Asda since the lock down and its a bit hit and miss, on the plus side there is no 80 item limit so I can shop for others as well as myself, the downside for me is they seem to have loads of stuff not in stock and even though I have substitutions ticked my order can still come back with "no suitable substitution found" My Asda is pretty big as well. I always buy a bit extra just in case as I do not want to have to go out.
