My partner has tried to replace the old Satchwell Thermostat with the above Digistat 1, he followed the instructions and all seemed to go well, apart from the radiators are now not heating up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be, we have checked all the obvious problems - batteries fitted, temperature correctll set etc.

A digistat only uses 2 wires whereas an older satchwell uses 3 plus an earth. Find the livei wire from clock & connect to one terminal (probably red if it is a 4 core cable) then disregard the neutral (probably blue) then connect other wire (probably yellow) to the output terminal. Make sure that power is off & try joining yellow to red & see if it works (after power restored) if it doesn't you may have blown fuse
