Been having trouble getting my boiler to switch on water and heating, a friend looked in my airing cupboard and said a valve was only half opened. Dont know what he did, but now the radiators are scorching even when heating is not on, and water is piping hot. The pump too gets red hot. Any clues on what he may of done. Will anything blow up or am i being a drama queen?

Your boiler is fitted with a temperature control. Simply turn it down. That should cure it, and save you money.Your friend has opened a gate valve fully, and done you a favour.
