We always have a family party on Boxing Day and I wondered if anyone had any ideas for games? We are a mixed age group. 4yrs to 64 yrs. I have devised a quiz and I have sorted a dressing up game but after that, I am stuck. Any ideas would be great.

In my family we have about the same number of people and we have been meeting for three generations. A good game is the hat game. Everyone stands in a circle facing to thier left and everyone but one person has a hat on. When the music starts you reach to the hat of the person in front and put it on your head. Of course the person behind has taken your hat off but there is always someone without a hat. When the music stops the person without a hat is out and a hat is removed from the group. Its quite funny when you get down to three people as there are only two hats. We now give a prize to the last two in. Its funny if you put a smaller child next to a taller adult as the child has to jump up to reach. They can be assisted by a cousin to lift them up. Have a good time
When our family gets together we always play consequences. All it needs is some strips of paper (A4 torn into four, length ways) and a pen or pencil each. We all sit in a circle and write a boys name, fold the paper over so no one can read what you've written pass the paper to the person on the left and then everyone writes a girls name. Carry on in this fashion then take turns reading them all out. We use: BOYS NAME, GIRLS NAME, WHERE THEY MET, WHAT HE SAID, WHAT SHE SAID, WHAT THE CONSEQUENCE WAS. It always generates a lot of laughs and all the old family jokes come out (the number of times Grandads shed is where they met......!!!!). The names used are either family names or famous people.

We play the game where everyone writes the name of someone famous person on a post it, stick on the persons forhead next to you so they cant see it but everyone else can they you gotta take it in turns to ask questions that can only have yes or no answers, eg am i male, am i a tv star, am i alive etc

this is an american magazine - lots of great ideas for silly games that are fun for all ages. Includes indoor and outdoor, some seasonal and others with no particular theme. Also has lots of crafts to keep little ones busy. The party ideas are mostly geared towards childrens birthdays.
