I noticed during the spin cycle that there was suds on the inside of the glass in the washing machine door. There must still be soap on the clothes. Am I using too much washing powder?

how much are you using Sandy ? a paper cup measure is about right...although there is a wee bit sud to be expected on a high spin I think..
Yes - typically you only need about 100cc of powder. Modern machines are stingy with water and excess powder may not be rinsed out properly.

I was pouring a good amount, probably too much, into the tray. I'll use less next time
I had the same problem and put a cleaning treatment through it.Several on the market but I like the Dettol Washing Machine cleaner. It is a bottle of liquid poured into soap dispenser and set on a very hot wash in empty machine, you can also use some of the liquid to clean doors and soap dispensers before the procedure . I use it once a month and wishing now washing always clean .
Oops delete wishing .
