Hi, I have a large fern in the border. Over the winter it has cast seedlings into the lawn and I have got a lawn of baby fern. Obviously not wanted. Will I have to pick them all out or can I use a certain type of weed killer. Also I want rid of the fern any suggestions apart from digging it up as I am not able to do that. thanks

Do you know what type of fern it is ?, some can send out underground runners known as rhizomes, the common bracken can spread like this.
I not come across ferns that will tolerate regular mowing in a lawn but other non flowering plants like moss can become established if the drainage is poor.
It Is not a rhizome fern. Yes I do have poor drainage. Thanks
