Boiler just serviced and said to be ok but will not restart in the morning when I turn up the Drayton temperature switch.
The switch appears to click on and off ok at various temperatures.
The boiler however switches itself off for no apparent reason . The timed switch is set to permanently on.
Mostly but not always the boiler will restart if I press the green light button, but it is such a nuisance to have to get up and do that several tomes of an evening.
Any ideas, guys or gals?

My Potterton boiler had to be repaired a couple of weeks ago even though it had been serviced and checked in, December.

The Control Panel thing had had a wire that had moved inside it and it was touching something it shouldn't, therefore the safety mechanism cut in and switched it off, leaving me with no heating.

A new Control Pamel was fitted and everything ok now.

I'm not very technical, so apologies for this.

I think it needs a visit from the Gas Man.
It could be a similar problem to Chrissa's. There are so many things to go wrong in boilers. I'm building a new house soon ........... and it's going to be all-electric!

No help to you though :o(

Your model did have a lot of trouble with the printed circuit board at one time. Also, a faulty gas valve will show your symptoms.

Plus ....... lots of little thermistors and thermostats that can shut everything down if they are faulty.

Not necessarily the boilerman's fault, but I'd certainly call him back.
