Hey.

I was just looking for quotes on how much an attic conversion would cost on a three bedroom, average sized house. Has anyone had it done or knows someone who has? Im thinking of getting it done and just wanted to know how much money it will cost, thanks!

I had one quote for my loft. No building regs, just strengthening the floor, insulation in floor and roof, plasterboard ceiling, light and plug, velux window - 4000. Another guy came and said 2-3000, but I wasn't sure about him. If you want a bedroom it has to involve steel girders and planning permission and can cost around 13000. However, my mate paid a builder friend and together they did the basics at under 1000. I think this is the route I'm going to take.

Good luck!

Thanks! :D

Would anyone have any money saving tips, we really just want it as a den... not a bedroom as such, although we may put a futon in it!
