Just been diagnosed with AF. Am having an ECG in the morning and speak with the GP again after to discuss treatment.

Anyone with experience, what treatment consists of and do you feel better for it, please.

Your treatment will depend upon the cause:

Could be beta blockers and or BP lowering tablets or it could be tablets to regulate the speed of the heart.

You will have to wait until tomorrow.

Let us know eh!
Two of my older brothers had this .One had a pacemaker fitted some years ago He's 78 and still going strong .The other one is pushing eighty and it's controlled by medication .He was on beta blockers but they didn't help and he had to have a series of tests at Papworth which involved things like what his heart was doing under stress etc .They put him on another drug called atenol and he's fine now .
Very common

ECG will diagnose.

Treatment depends on your signs and the heart rate .

The other thing is stroke prophylaxis - aspirin or something stronger more expensive which they will also discuss.
