As many people here know, I don't believe in funerals at all.

However, if we're going to have them, it seems sensible to have a 'big do' for the country's greatest ever Prime Minister. Further, it probably isn't costing all that much really. For example, you have to pay hundreds of soldiers exactly the same amount whether they're training on their base or escorting a funeral cortège.

I don't think it's even begun yet, there's alot of rage out there, people have been sitting in their local council office for 2 weeks asking how they are going to eat next week and pay the hiked rent. As I said, disgusting amount of money and it's throwing it in the faces of people who are struggling to survive, it's not easy to remember what happened 30 years ago, people are just looking at what is happening this week and next.

Surely the government's opponents would approve of spending public money. I thought Osborne's critics had been saying spending money would help the economy.
I should add though that I'm uncomfortable about it because of how it'll be perceived, and I think it will attract protests

Other politicians didn't get this treatment. If someone wants a big funeral then why are they getting the public purse to pay for it ? Because they can and don't care about misusing your tax money, because there is nothing you can do about it.
