I've just steam cleaned my oven racks, door etc. However, the bottom of the oven is thick with charcoal stuff (yuck, I know - I'm not very regular at oven cleaning!).
Does anyone have any suggestions which would remove the stubborn stuff on the bottom? Thanks!

Not that I do it very often - but a bowl of water in the oven, turn on the oven, the water will steam and loosen the goop.

I thought the super duper steam cleaner would have done the trick - so, I'm thinking that your suggestion might not be enough to loosen it.
..chisel....
Sorry to butt in, but thanks boxy, I'll try that to see if it will loosen the cover of the bulb that needs replacing but don't want to break said cover
don't let gness near it, sibton....
On the very rare occasions I do mine, Mr Muscle oven cleaner is good for really hard burnt on stuff. For everything else, I just slosh a bit of water on it, spray it with Mr Muscle kitchen cleaner and leave it for about half an hour. Any stubborn bits that won't come off I usually do with one of those little wire scourers, but don't scrub too hard with one of those!
Do you think I'm mad boxy? no that would be just disaster. she's out, isn't she?

Thanks all - I'll give all of the above a go and see if that helps (including the chisel!)
Oven Pride is brilliant at cleaning all that crap from the bottom of the oven.
When you've cleaned it buy an oven liner for the oven bottom. It can be taken out and cleaned, in the dishwasher if necessary.
Agree with rocky Oven Pride is brilliant
I agree with Rocky about Oven-Pride. I have just done mine with it and it is all sparkley and lovely.

What's up gness?

(how's the toe?)
Haven't heard of Oven Pride. Who makes it,my oven could do with something strong.
here you go giveup. I use every 2/3 months and it works really well. Just make sure you have some strong rubber gloves

Supermarkeys sell it giveup.

Lakeland also do their own oven cleaner which is good too but Oven-Pride wins hands down for me. I used to have a company come and steam-clean my oven but I can get a better result myself.
