Can anyone give me an idea how much it would cost to have 4 branches cut down. They are about 20 feet from the ground and about 2/3 inches thick.
They are overhanging into my property from the gardens of the Pub next door.

I would rather not have to deal with the Pub landlord as he has a temper!

No idea about the cost, but once removed do remember you have to ask if he wants them back! Otherwise, you have to include the cost of removal as well.
Phone a tree surgeon for an estimate, any estimate we give here could be way out!

Thanks Alice I'll keep that in mind.

I'm just wondering if we are talking in the hundreds of pounds! I just have no idea.
I can only tell you about my costs here up north.Every year I have about 15 leylandhi trees cut down about 3/4 foot, it costs me £65,this year I asked If they could cut a very tall birch tree down aswell, they charged me an extra £35 for this, they took all the cuttings away and left no mess at all.
Just a little for you to go on.Still worth getting a couple of quotes.
I had a dozen Leylandi cut down in 1998 for £200 but they were rather a cowboy outfit, they also cut my neighbour's telephone wire.

I had a single sycamore cut down in 2009 and all removed for £120.

I would have thought we're not talking about more than £100 at the most, but get a quote first (or more than one maybe)
A mate of mine is a tree surgeon, he charged £350 last year to remove two large trees and cut the tops of four conifers. I'd of thought what you want doing would be far less, I suppose where you live may have a bearing on cost of course, Ratters sugestion would be tha best idea!

Thanks everyone for your input. I've now got a fair idea of the cost and will be able to assess the quotes I'll now ask for.
