Tumbleweed gel, don't know if that's the same as the one you're on about but I've been using it for years and it's excellent! It comes with a little brush and you paint it onto the leaves, it takes a while but kills the weed back to the root.
this is the stuff you are talking about, and it does kill bindweed, we sell tons of it in the garden centre where i work.

Dave.
Would these products also work on Lords & Ladies? We have loads of those in our garden and it really is such hard work digging them all out, just to find that some roots have survived and come back.
ill ask someone in work carakeel, it may be that you might have to by a stronger product like SBK.

Dave.
Tried the gel today for the third time on columbine/bindweed. No sign of results yet.
I bought it last week and painted several unwelcome plants.. and as yet they are still grinning at me !!!! Grrrrrr
roundup is a systemic weed killer and may need more than one application and a few weeks to kill the plant and roots completely.

Dave.
I used some gel Roundup a couple of weeks ago, and the plants are now beginning to look as if something is happening = I do know that it will take quite a few weeks for it to work completely.
stick a cane in the ground and encourage it to climb up that rather than your plants and then spray it with Resolva or Roundup. It may take a few goes but it should keep it at bay. I find Resolva good becaue it has an instant knock down as well as being systemic.
the old gels were good and it looks like you need less of the new ones btw if you put tall sticks in the groundwhere it is a problem the bindweed climbs up them clear of the plants making it easier to get to without damaging anything precious
